OSTEOPATHY IN CANADA

The S.O.C. has a precise mandate to develop the osteopathic profession in Canada while respecting the basic principles of Osteopathy.  This is why the S.O.C. seeks to protect and uphold the code of ethics for the welfare of the Canadian population.

The osteopath member of the S.O.C. hold:
- a university diploma in Health Sciences or an equivalent (pre-requisites studied in osteopathy).
-a diploma in osteopathy obtained in a affiliated institution recognized by the S.O.C., which corresponds to 1400 hours of formal training, clinical hours and followed  by the success of a thesis.

Visit the site L'Institut d'Enseignement de l'Ostéopathie du Québec.

Osteopaths that are members of the S.O.C. have insurance of professional responsibility covering all acts of osteopathic medicine.

There is an increasing request for osteopaths qualified in Canada, which reflects the desire of the patients to solve their health problems in a more natural form.
